More than a game

A warm welcome, every time

We’re a friendly, informal group of local people who enjoy playing short mat bowls together at Horsmonden Village Hall.

There’s a little friendly competition, plenty of conversation, and a short break for tea and biscuits. It’s a lovely way to spend an evening, meet people and try something new.

We welcome bowlers from Horsmonden and surrounding villages, including Brenchley, Matfield, Goudhurst, Lamberhurst and Kilndown.

Come and give it a go. We have bowls you can use and regular players who’ll happily show you the basics.

If you enjoy lawn or indoor bowls, short mat offers a fun new challenge — with plenty of familiar skills.

Enjoy relaxed games with another friendly local group and get to know new people.

What to expect

Just bring yourself

No need to buy bowls or special equipment to get started. We provide bowls for newcomers; just wear comfortable clothes and suitable indoor footwear.

When we meet

We usually meet on Monday evenings at Horsmonden Village Hall.

Please email before your first visit so John can confirm the next session and welcome you.
